Has Org. for America Given Up on Older White Men?

Here is a YouTube video that Organizing for America has put out to rally supporters for the midterms.

One message here seems to be “you older white guys with jobs, mortgages, and families, we’ve just given up trying to sell you on our policies. ” I mean look at this video. In 90 seconds of showing grinning hopeful faces not a single one of them is an older white male.
Obama supporters: you should be asking yourself what does your Dad know about the world and the president’s policies that you don’t. …

Treasury Secretary Romney Tells Citibank: Fail Already
(New York)  In a stunning change in the “too big to fail” policy of the previous administration who must not be named, U. S. Secretary of the Treasury Mitt Romney said today that CitiBank should get on with failing already, the American public has paid enough for their bad decision making. “Were they going to share with the taxpayer if their gambles won?  I doubt that” he said.
Romney said the multinational banking concern should get about the business of going bankrupt post-haste, the sooner …

Make Your House Look Like a Miniature

You know how sometimes two unrelated things occur around the same time to produce something amazing? Well, here’s how you can make a fake miniature photo of your own house just like the one below in the next 10 minutes. Thanks to Bing maps and TiltShift Maker you can do this easily.

The tilt-shift effect of making any photo look like a miniature works best when the photo is a scene from above, with no horizon showing. By a happy coincidence the angle that Bing maps uses for its Bird’s eye view …

This can be your house.

DC is Swollen Spider, Gorged on Men’s Lives

“Glome was a web–I the swollen spider, squat at its center, gorged with men’s stolen lives.” C.S. Lewis.
Walter Stabosz caught this amazing video with a perfect storm of spider, firefly, lighting, and, yes, storm. When BoingBoing.com linked to it, the video got 40,000 views in one day. But what fascinates more than this compelling video is its reception by commenters.  It’s like a Rorschach test. And of course I saw an apt analogy to the looters in DC.

In Lewis’ Till We Have Faces tragic figure Oruel realizes that far from …

Please read the transcripts of the folks in D.C. defending these guys.
Can you imagine how confused and compromised the principal players in the Obama administration must be to make a decision that so cleanly subverts Dr. King’s hope for a world in which his daughters are judged not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character? The poorly thought out reasons for dropping the case offered by both the DOJ and the Civil Rights Commission come fast and thick in the transcripts.
Here’s a sampling of …

Aim Anger at Illegals and You Pick the Wrong Target

When we conservatives complain about illegal immigration let’s pick the right target. It is not the illegal immigrants themselves who are the most responsible. Washington created this mess.
The roots of the problem are explained in “Why Braceros?“.  This 19 minute film made for the Council of California Growers in 1959 describes the shortage of manpower to harvest “stoop labor” crops.

Outtakes from 2010 Census Video, in Swahili

If the U.S. Census Director Robert M. Groves can spend our money on video guides in 63 languages–including Swahili–well, we can at least make fun of this questionable use of our tax dollars.

I bet my version gets more views than the one our taxes paid for.

Self-identifying Race and Minor Children

U.S. Census Bureau hotline to parents: please poison the well of your minor child’s self-image.
The issue of race on question 9 in the 2010 Census causes a great deal of discussion and anger among many Americans. See this discussion at the web site of New York radio talk show Brian Lehrer for polite and intelligent discussion from people who have, as they say, skin in the game.
This issue is complicated further when reporting the race of minor children. The U.S. Census Bureau explains race as a matter of self-identification. …

Diversity Training Horror Story

Mr. Moriyama worked with these guys for 30 years, but why listen to him?
Vignette from a diversity training class held in a 90 year old  industrial manufacturing facility:
Japanese-American chemical engineer Kichirou Moriyama (name changed) spent the last 30 years becoming a successful project manager and supervisor. His work requires him to direct the efforts of 30 to 60 year old process operators who are typically high school graduates and union members. The operators are the ones who actually open the valves, add the catalysts, take the samples etc. to run …

CAPTURED! Video Tips for CRASH THE TEA PARTY Activists

At 0:18 video proof the N-word non-incident was a setup?
We came across this video, an apparent training session for those who want to crash our tea parties and capture all the horror on film. It actually has some good advice on making viral videos.
You may want to put those video tips to good use. As Andrew Breitbart said at his 15 APR 10 Tax Day Tea Party Address [registration required], you are the media.
p.s. This satire pokes fun at the press, the unions, and professional activists, who for their own …
