James Holmes’ dating site “girlfriend” is Photoshopped Keeley Hazell
Not surprisingly, the picture of James Holmes on dating sites with the coy beauty snuggling up against him is fake. Here is Holmes’ picture. [Actually, it used to be a picture. What is fascinating about Holmes’ faked photograph is that he has gone to the trouble of degrading the quality of the Keeley Hazell original so that it looks like the same grainy, color saturated quality of the webcam screencap he made of himself. This is not a guy who is unaquainted with photo editing tools. Just unaquainted with Keeley Hazell.
UPDATE for Brian Ross: Keeley Hazell is not related to the Hazel Kelley who in 1995 donated $1,000 to Republican Phil Gramm’s presidential campaign.
UPDATE: The Sun reports that Hazell confirms it is her in the picture.
That picture is from a magazine shoot I did a long while ago and I can’t believe such a weirdo has it on his profile page. The whole thing is sick — but nothing to what the people of Aurora must be going through. My heart goes out to them.

you dolt.. of course it’s a poster. it’s obvious. for you to misconstrue it as otherwise, including as his effort to make it appear that the girl was an actual girl snuggled up, is plain foolishness and none too bright.
You are correct. However, when I noticed that I was able to identify the girl using some simple editing and tineye.com when no other web source large or small had, I thought it was worth publishing. And for about 2 hours I had a worldwide scoop (until the Sun actually called her).
So please forgive me if this little hobby of mine annoys you.
thought it looked fake too but no one else said anything so thought it was just me and it was one of the prostitutes he had. kept thinking “mannnn I feel sorry for that girl she’s probably hiding to avoid getting any threats from holmes haters” and “she’s going to really have to change her look to keep being a prostitute so noone recognizes her as the girl that screwed james”
It’s clever fake. I find it particularly ironic that Holmes, bright as he is, realized that if he just managed to crop Hazell’s photo and insert it as a layer behind him, the high-resolution original would be an obvious fake against the grainy webcam picture of himself. So he added a filter to make Hazell’s picture as grainy as his picture. But it didn’t occur to him to take off his headset before photographing himself.
NOT DEFENDING JAMES HOLMES – However, as we have a member of our family who is mentally ill ( this could have just as easily have been my cousin) this whole case HIGHLIGHTS the very pathetic way we approach and handle mental illness in this country. This kid has been SCREAMING for help for over a YEAR (and likely before that) before this all came to a head and the ball just kept getting passed along. If he family is like ours – they have been talking to and taking him to see professionals/state agencies for years warning, begging, pleading for help to no avail. You would have though he had leprosy, OH NO, that’s right we actually treat leprosy patients.
Mental Illness, in MOST cases is an actual physiological illness. A chemical imbalance in the brain or a malformation of the brain or a dysfunctional part of the brain etc..Just like a broken arm, or diabetes or being born with one kidney but we do not treat it that same way – in public, in private or in medicene.

I agree. This is a sad story. I wish the one story I ever managed to scoop the press on and that involved something I actually know something about–faking photographs–had not involved such a sad situation. On the one hand if he is just a bad man–and I do think some people choose to be bad–then I’m glad to point out his dishonesty. But if he’s just a mentally ill kid, then it’s not really nice to pile on.
