Obama voters: you know the guys pushing Obamacare are all getting out of it themselves, right?
In case the warnings from us small-government fans haven’t gotten through to Obama voters yet, here’s a fun video remix. It’s IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel blandly stating that while the public at large may have been screwed, he hasn’t. Set to LMFAO’s Party Rock Anthem featuring Lauren Bennett and GoonRock.
IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel explains why it is a good thing that the union for federal employees, the NTEU (National Treasury Employees Union), is encouraging its members to oppose legislation requiring all federal employees to participate in the Obamacare health insurance exchanges.
Werfel’s employer is able to continue to offer the gold-leaf, kid-glove, diamond breast pin Federal Employee Health Benefit Plan offered to our government employees. A lot of businesses are having trouble paying for the rising insurance premiums that have resulted from the Affordable Care Act requirements to accept patients with pre-existing conditions and to add new minimum coverages to all of its plans.
Buried between the lines of Werfel’s answer is this weasely plea: don’t be a hater just because he and his colleagues are the lucky ones. Why begrudge them their good fortune just because their employer can reach into everyone’s paychecks or print its own money to cover rising premiums and yours can’t.
TLDR: IRS Chief says if I like my current plan I can keep it. You? Not so much.
