Politico Told a Stretcher about Herman Cain and Maggie Haberman on YouTube is the Proof

Maggie Haberman shares a byline on the Herman Cain Politico scoop. When she talked to ABC News this morning she didn’t have time to carefully choose her words. So she described the agreement that included a payoff to one of Cain’s accusers in surprisingly different terms than in the original article. Watch the 30 seconds here from ABC News as she first describes the agreement as “a formal resolution” but when asked for specifics gives a more enlightening answer.

We Don’t Hate Him. He’s Just Not That Good

So much invective is directed at conservatives on the assumption that we hate President Obama. Please. We don’t hate him. But to many of us the President is a kind of over-rewarded competent. Although he is good at many things, he seems to have been rewarded way beyond his deserving. He does seem to be smart, but doesn’t seem to have worked particularly hard. For example, he was graduated summa cum laude, but that whole first year at Business International Corporation made him sound pretty weak.

Aim Anger at Illegals and You Pick the Wrong Target

When we conservatives complain about illegal immigration let’s pick the right target. It is not the illegal immigrants themselves who are the most responsible. Washington created this mess.
The roots of the problem are explained in Why Braceros?.  This 19 minute film made for the Council of California Growers in 1959 describes the shortage of manpower to harvest “stoop labor” crops.

The Lost Art of Being a Statesman

Who are our nation’s statesman today? The first response would be the President and  then our Congressmen. But think about what a statesman is. Do the President and our Congressmen inspire confidence in us? Do they remove fear when things are rough? Do they set an example for all to follow? And do they fight for what is right in the face of being unpopular? I would say they do not. Today we do not have any statesmen. Today we have politicians. Not Very Convincing Arguments Against Our Very Dumb Video
Andrew Leonard in his column at Salon.com calls our ObamaPad video clever but also “so very dumb.”  I would like to defend it.
Thankfully he starts the defense himself in his 5th paragraph when he likens the internet to the interstate highway system. The alert reader will notice that the cars you drive on those highways are not built by the federal government.
